Why We Built This Site
West Virginia provides several public record channels, yet none is a complete Monroe County history by itself. The sheriff keeps reports created by deputies. WVDCR holds regional booking and custody data, while magistrate and circuit clerks maintain filed charges and dispositions. WVSP CIB handles fingerprint-based repository histories, and the West Virginia Sex Offender Registry serves a distinct public-safety role. We bring together the confirmed contacts, search systems, costs, and request steps for those offices.
What You Will Find Here
- Record guides: how criminal court case records are found and read in Monroe County
- Official check routes: how personal fingerprint record review works through WVSP CIB
- Agency contacts: how to reach Monroe County clerks, sheriff law enforcement, and statewide custodians
- Record cleanup basics: where West Virginia expungement petitions are filed and which official forms apply
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately operated reference site with no connection to a West Virginia court, sheriff, police department, or state agency. Those boundaries mean:
- We cannot run an official background check or pull a criminal record for anyone
- We cannot file expungement petitions, records requests, or any other paperwork on your behalf
- We cannot issue certified copies of any criminal record, court document, or rap sheet
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific charge or case applies to you
- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, or address listed on this site is current right now
Only the issuing sheriff, court, WVDCR office, or WVSP CIB can provide or certify the record it maintains. We can identify the proper route, but the government custodian must supply the document.
Search Partners
Outside providers operate the search boxes shown on some pages. They control their services, prices, and results. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may produce a referral fee that supports this resource. We do not set a partner's charge or decide which records it returns.
